Today I felt much better and took a taxi to Taormina, a hilltop town on the east coast of Sicily. The town is known for the Teatro Antico di Taormina, an ancient Greco-Roman theatre that is still used today. The views from the theatre were incredible as cliffs drop to the sea. On a clear day, you can easily see Mount Etna as well. The day was hazy but I was able to catch a glimpse in the early morning.

Strolling through the shopping district, you see tourists from all over the world wanting to visit this town made famous in the U.S. TV series “White Lotus”. Beautiful art can be seen everywhere. I got a kick out of the “Pasta Museum”.

And then there were the historic buildings.

And finally, a wall through the public gardens where I stopped to eat a sandwich and just enjoy the views.

I then hopped on a local bus and made my way back to the resort. What a wonderful day!
